About the Role
As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you’ll be joining a high-performing team working across current and future Defence capability programs in Mebourne and Canberra. This is an opportunity to contribute to national security and mission-critical systems by providing specialist cybersecurity engineering expertise.
In this role, you will:
- Develop, implement and manage cybersecurity requirements for complex Defence systems and platforms.
- Conduct system security architecture assessments and advise on secure design and integration.
- Perform risk assessments aligned with the Information Security Manual (ISM) and Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF).
- Support system certification and accreditation under the Defence Information Assurance Framework (DIAF).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify, document, and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
- Provide guidance on secure configuration, compliance, and control requirements.
- Contribute to key documentation including SRMPs, SSPs, and Risk Assessments.
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- A degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Systems Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years’ experience in cybersecurity engineering within Defence or a similarly complex, regulated environment.
- Solid knowledge of ISM, DSPF, DIAF, ISO/IEC 27001, and/or NIST standards.
- Experience supporting secure system design, integration, and accreditation.
- Srong communication skills and confidence engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Australian Citizenship (mandatory due to security requirements).
- Current or active NV1 (or above) AGSVA clearance (highly regarded).
