About the Company:
This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced and commercially astute Chief Financial Officer to join a leading NSW Government organisation during a period of significant growth and transformation.
Operating at the centre of major strategic initiatives, the organisation is looking for a CFO who can lead from the front-bringing strong financial stewardship, strategic insight, and hands-on leadership within a complex and evolving environment.
The CFO will be instrumental in shaping financial strategy, strengthening governance frameworks, and supporting large-scale project delivery. This role is well suited to a senior finance leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-accountability environments and can balance technical expertise with commercial acumen.
About the Role:
- Lead the finance function, ensuring effective allocation and control of financial resources to maximise organisational outcomes
- Manage complex accounting activities across infrastructure and project environments, including cashflow, external borrowings, leases, and grants
- Deliver accurate and timely budgeting, forecasting, and Treasury reporting
- Drive effective financial reporting aligned to internal and external stakeholder requirements
- Provide strategic financial advice and support to executive leadership and project teams
- Lead financial performance analysis, business case development, and funding submissions
- Oversee statutory reporting and manage relationships with Audit & Risk Committee, NSW Treasury, and key government stakeholders
- Implement and maintain financial risk management and governance frameworks
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team
About you:
- CA or CPA qualified
- Proven experience in a CFO or senior finance leadership role within complex, project-based environments
- Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cashflow management
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic financial advice and partner with senior stakeholders
- Knowledge of NSW Government financial frameworks and Australian Accounting Standards is highly regarded
- A hands-on leader who can operate effectively in a dynamic, changing environment
