ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

Our client is an award-winning engineering consultancy experiencing rapid growth with expertise across Structural, Civil and Geotechnical Engineering services. The company operate on a national level with multiple office locations and work in partnership with some of Australia’s best-known engineering institutions. Due to significant demand, the company are expanding their services and require an expert Associate Geotechnical Engineer in Sydney to orchestrate and support this growth within the NSW region.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Based in Sydney’s CBD, you will oversea the expansion of a new geotechnical team. Fostering a culture of excellence and expertise. You will oversea Geotechnical investigations within the Sydney basin, working to AS1726 standards. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior or Associate Geotechnical Engineer to take the next step in their career in an exciting, challenging and highly supportive environment. You will perform a varied and crucial role within the business, with responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Directing the growth and expansion of a new Geotechnical Engineering team
  • Performing and overseeing Geotechnical investigations within the Sydney and wider NSW region
  • Liaising with and managing a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Providing training, assistance and mentoring to other staff and project members
  • Building business-critical relationships and identifying new business opportunities
  • Acting as an SME on national and TfNSW standards and implementing them accordingly

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this Associate Geotechnical Engineer role, you should have:

  • A degree background in Geology, Geotechnical or Civil Engineering
  • Project management experience in relation to Geotechnical Investigation work
  • Deep understanding of foundations, retaining walls, slope stability investigations, pavement designs and earthworks supervision.
  • Expert knowledge of AS1726 and national/regional geotechnical standards
  • A current driver’s license and valid working rights in Australia
