ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Administrative Officer to join the Finance Division in a permanent full-time capacity. Reporting to the Revenue Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of patient billing, receipting, debt collection, and revenue management processes.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the production and management of patient accounts and billing documentation.
  • Handling revenue enquiries and providing exceptional service to patients and internal stakeholders.
  • Managing aged debtors, coordinating payment plans, and liaising with debt collection agencies and insurance companies.
  • Processing billing, receipting, refunds, and reconciliation tasks using financial systems such as PBRC, Hosbil, and Cerner.
  • Preparing invoices for a range of services, including accommodation, dialysis, outpatient, and compensable claims.
  • Managing Medicare, DVA, health fund, and overseas patient claims efficiently and accurately.
  • Supporting end-of-month reporting, adjustment journals, and financial system updates.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of revenue processes and maintaining a high standard of customer service.

ABOUT YOU
You will be a motivated administrative professional with excellent organisational skills and a passion for providing outstanding customer service. Ideally, you will bring:

  • Proven experience (minimum 2-3 years) in an administrative, billing, or accounts receivable role, preferably within a healthcare or large complex environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong time management skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Sound communication skills, both verbal and written, to manage internal and external stakeholder queries effectively.
  • Advanced computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and financial systems such as Hosbil, Cerner, PBRC, or similar platforms.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines under pressure.
  • HSC or equivalent qualification as a minimum requirement.
