About the Company:

I’m currently partnering with a global organisation undergoing significant transformation who are looking to add an experienced Payroll Officer to their team on an initial 6-month contract.

This role will play a critical part in supporting payroll operations during a period of change. There is flexibility around location, with Brisbane preferred as the Payroll Manager is based there, however candidates in Sydney, Melbourne or Newcastle will also be considered.

Working within a collaborative payroll function that supports teams across different locations, you’ll assist with the day-to-day delivery of Australian payroll while ensuring accuracy, compliance and exceptional stakeholder support.

About the Role:

Reporting into the payroll leadership team, you’ll support payroll processing across a large and complex environment while working closely with key stakeholders both locally and offshore.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting end-to-end Australian payroll processing
  • Payroll reconciliations and data validation
  • Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies and issues
  • Reviewing payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Processing employee lifecycle changes including starters, leavers and employment variations
  • Payroll reporting and administration
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders to resolve payroll enquiries
  • Supporting payroll activities throughout an ongoing business transformation
  • Assisting with process improvement initiatives

About You

We’re looking for an experienced payroll professional who can operate at a Payroll Analyst or Payroll Specialist level and confidently manage complex payroll activities with minimal supervision.

You will ideally bring:

  • Demonstrated experience processing Australian payroll
  • Previous experience working with SAP or ADP GlobalView
  • Strong Excel skills including VLOOKUPs, formulas and data analysis
  • Excellent reconciliation and data validation experience
  • A strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards and compliance requirements
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • A collaborative, team-first approach
  • The ability to work effectively across different teams, locations and cultures
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
